Jack Kahn, Ph.D.

Jack S. Kahn, Ph.D. is a professor of psychology at a small liberal arts college in the greater Boston area of Massachusetts. Jack has a Ph.D. in counseling psychology and a masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. During his professional training, Jack had several wonderful learning opportunities including mentoring and supervision in feminist family therapy and interning with Penobscot Nation Health Services. Jack has published articles in the areas of feminist identity for men, constructivism, multicultural identity and family assessment.

Jack has recently published a text called An Introduction to Masculinities by Blackwell/Wiley publishing. He hopes it will be a useful text for those interested in studying masculinities through a feminist lens.

Jack is a member of the National Organization for Men Against Sexism, Association for Women in Psychology, The Psychology of Men and Masculinity, Psychologist Constructivist Network, and the American Men's Studies Association. He is also on the editorial board for the Journal 'Women & Therapy'. Jack's consultation interests include profeminist male identity, alleviating sexual harassment and violence, and issues of racial justice.

Kevin T. Henze, Ph.D.

Kevin has a PhD and masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston College (BC). For the past six years, Kevin worked with the Institute for the Study and Promotion of Race and Culture (ISPRC) at BC. As an ISPRC staff member he co-coordinated several years of the Institute's Diversity Challenge conferences, presented various diversity presentations and co-authored several publications (including a book chapter about the ethical considerations of White researchers conducting studies with People of Color). Concurrent with his work at ISPRC this past year, Kevin served as a co-chair of the Boston chapter of the National Organization for Men Against Sexism. Kevin recently completed his doctoral dissertation investigating the links between masculinity, White racial identity and social dominance. Kevin is currently completing a hospital-based clinical psychology fellowship. His presentation and consultation areas of interest include: Race relations, Whiteness, Race within the LGBT community, and Masculinity.

Matt Meyer

Matt Meyer is a musician, Educator, and community activist. He is an active member of the Boston chapter of the National Organization for Men Against Sexism(NOMAS). He works as a percussionist playing in several bands as well as leading workshops that discuss the relationship of music and social justice work. He is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and has studied abroad in Cuba, Ghana, and Central America. Matt also works as a professional worship leader for Unitarian Universalist congregations and is guided by the idea that a better understanding between the arts and social justice work will lead to fuller and healthier relationships in all of our communities.
